MODULE 4
A MIND BODY APPROACH TO ENERGY & FATIGUE
In Module 4, we turn our attention to the all important topics of energy and fatigue. For many reasons, fatigue can gradually creep into our clients’ lives and undermine their quality of life in a big way. In this module, we’ll explore the multifactorial reasons why energy can dissipate over time – and how to help our clients regain their vitality.
You’ll discover how fatigue can be driven by the foods we eat, the thoughts we think, the beliefs we hold, and the hidden factors in our environment that can impact our metabolism. And you’ll dive into the secret influences our relationship with food has on our energy levels.
In this module, you’ll discover the most effective protocols and mind-body strategies that can help our clients have more energy. To this end, you’ll learn the maps, tools, protocols, distinctions and techniques to help us work with the fatigued client.
Additionally in this module, you’ll learn about the fascinating “11 Phases of Nourishment” – a powerful psychological map that helps us understand our journey with food and body.
And finally, we focus on a number of important counselor tools and guiding stars that are designed to help us achieve practitioner excellence.
So let’s get started!
As always, please start with your Overview Video below, and then work your way through all your module videos, exercises, and quiz.
Overview Video
But I would always love for you to assume that you can probably communicate just a little better when you are not feeling that you are being heard or understood. 'cause sometimes it's the words, sometimes it's our energy. We're not gonna always be perfect. Sometimes it's the internal place we're coming from that just needs a little shift, just needs a little tweak. The work is very magical in that way. Sometimes we might have to be more intellectually clear, meaning more explanation, more simple science, more strong and coherent in how we present something. So it comes across intellectually sound to certain people. Sometimes it just might be that we have to fluff the pillows a little more with the person we're talking with. You know, we might need to be a little more soft, more inviting, so that they can feel comfortable and less activated so they can relax into what we have to say. You know, oftentimes we're learning material here that can be very confronting for people, that can be intense for them. I'm assuming you've had that experience with some of the material. It could be confronting, it could be intense, and it goes counter to what your client has been thinking and feeling and believing and learning. Chances are for decades or a lifetime, for example, for example, weight loss isn't about eating less and exercising more. People believe that, and it'll blow their minds when you tell them different. When people hear that it can, it can just be such a brain bender. It might not make any sense for them. In other words, it can be an upset for them. So with that in mind, how do we deliver what we wanna say in such a way that our client can take a deep breath and let it in?
We're never gonna make, we're never trying to make our clients wrong. We're never trying to defend our position. I'm never trying to prove something to anyone. By the way, our job is to uplift. Our job is to inspire. Our job is to elevate people. Our job is to share information in a way that learns. So we're trying to share wisdom, insights, facts, thoughts that have impacted us, that have touched us, and now we're trying to light someone else's candle. Really, it's that simple in concept. Now, as much as we have been gathering up all kinds of information and learning all kinds of tools and techniques, I want to suggest that you can trust that by the end of this training, it's going to come together for you. I know a lot of times it's easy for us to get a little antsy because I wanna immediately know, well, well, well, how do I work with this and how do I work that and how do I fix this, and how do I fix that? So this is all I'm saying is a good time to remind ourselves. I'm reminding you, reminding me, let's just relax once again into the work. Let's relax into the learning experience. Let's relax into the journey with our clients. Because your client really, truly on one level, has all the keys inside them for their wholeness. You in many ways are just helping them unlock the door. Yes, you're giving them tools, insights, you're giving them guidelines, you're giving them course corrections. You are giving them inspiration, but your client comes locked and loaded with the energy and the essence of what they need to transform. Now, you're also going to hear me speak in these next conversations more about intuition, because I would love for you to start to trust in your inner guidance more, particularly if you're the kind of person that doesn't trust in your intuitive guidance. Because in a lot of ways, that's the name of the game here. This is one of the biggest skills that you actually already have, whether you know it or not. And I mean that nobody needs, and I really feel this to teach you intuition. You actually know it already. You've been learning it since you've been alive. And this is, I believe by far and away one of the most underrated skills that a good practitioner, teacher, coach, counselor, will ever possess. Our intuition, we can also say our instinct, our hunches. I'm gonna use those interchangeably. That's a part of who you are, is those flashes that come where you just know something or you just sense something or you got a good strong hunch. 'cause a lot of times, my friends, it's a higher wisdom coming through us. It's a beautiful intelligence that we don't always honor enough. And oftentimes it's the kind of knowing that we might even push aside that we just don't wanna believe. Well, oh God, no, I can't say that. You know, you get a good intuitive hit. Oh no, no, no, no, that's too out there. That's too crazy. That's too edgy. But meanwhile, you're thinking it, and meanwhile, there's a part of you that just might want to say it. Part of you that just might wanna share it. That's what I would love for you to begin to experiment with, to exercise your intuitive muscles even more. You can do that with clients, you can do that with your friends. Take risks, do that with your loved ones. Take risks with your intuitions. What are, what's popping up for you? Even in a social conversation with someone you don't, you don't know, and you feel like saying something, check it out, experiment with it. Check it out with the person or whoever you're with. Hey, here's this idea here. Here's this thought that keeps popping into my head. And see if your intuition was correct. Check it out afterwards. See how the person reacts. My friends? It ain't perfect. It's all about trial and error. Trial and success. Chances are, I'm gonna bet that your, your intuition is probably right. No, who knows, maybe 75% of the time. It's one intuitive hit that you have with a client that can make an absolutely huge difference in your work with them. This happens a lot with me, but intuition comes at a price. And the price is you and I being willing to risk you. Being willing to risk, sometimes looking silly or just being wrong, which can certainly happen. It happens. It's okay. So part of you jumping onto the intuition bandwagon is ah, beginning to trust yourself more, to trust your natural gift, beginning to trust that even if you are off, you can return to center. It's okay, you're forgiven, but trust that there's a wisdom that's encoded inside you. Maybe it's in our DNA, maybe it's in our soul, maybe it's our brain. Who knows? Maybe it's all of it. Oftentimes, not always. Intuition is actually where the action is. It's gonna ask you to step out on a limb. It's gonna ask you to be a little bold, a little courageous, a little bit of an experimenter, a scientist, an explorer. Let's see what happens. Now, I do wanna remind all of us that this kind of work in a certain way is risky. And by that I mean it's a risk for our ego. Your client's gonna be fine. Really, they're gonna be fine. The risk that we are in is that as professionals, we're often in the unknown when it comes to what to do with our client. We're in the dark. We're in the dark, and we're on a journey and we don't know what's next with our client, but we're willing to use the tools that we have, and we're also willing to go into new turf, a new territory. We're willing to be in uncertainty, remember, because it's our ability to navigate within that uncertainty that can make good things happen. The idea is to learn over time, to be in the unknown with a quiet confidence, with trust, with faith, with a smile, and with the knowing that, hey, I've got a toolkit. I'm developing my toolkit even more. You know, I've got certain gifts, I've got some skills, I have some talents that I actually come locked and loaded and born with. And you know what? I'm a genuinely caring person and that's what's going to help me help others. That's the head space I'm inviting you into. So as you trust that more and more, your coaching muscles gonna get stronger. You can't help anyone when you're sitting around thinking, I can't help anyone. You only have to be one step, one step ahead of the person that you're helping in order to help them. You can help others if you're open to the possibility that indeed you can, again, one step ahead of that person and you could be of assistance to them at any given time. So we're learning how to trust who is showing up in our world in terms of our clients trust, who shows up in your practice trust, who shows up in your office because that client, you found them and they found you. They're here for a reason and whatever that reason is, they're here to teach you and we're here to teach them. Now, you know this, sometimes the lessons we're here to teach each other might be a little challenging. Sometimes the lessons that you learn between you and your client are just really sweet and easy and positive. Your client gets help. They have more energy, they feel better, they lose weight. Whatever it is, they're in a better mood. And it's a big love fest. I love when I have clients like that. It worked. It was easy. And sometimes we work with a client and we don't get the kind of success that that we want. I might get disappointed because, hey, you know, I did my best. I tried everything. I didn't get the outcome that my client wanted. We didn't hit the stated goal. And in my experience, I've learned to always remind myself that in our work with a client, seeds are being planted. We're planting seeds. You truly don't know how. The work that you do with a client today will impact them and sprout in the future. Even if your only, even if your client only sees you for one session and they quit, you might have said one thing that you have no recollection of that's going to carry on with them and through them and sprout inside sometimes maybe years later. And they'll say to themselves one day, oh my goodness, that's what she meant when she said that. I get it now. I need to do that. I need to put that into practice. That makes total sense. Now, we have to trust that when we speak the truth with love, when you speak the truth with consciousness, it's always gonna be heard on some level, even if it doesn't look like it. And trust that when you're coming from those good intentions, oftentimes that's the best we can do. You've done everything in your power, and that's what's going to lead you on the road to success no matter what happens. So my friends, I'm excited for you to dive into the material. I'm especially excited for you to learn about energy and fatigue. You're gonna come through with some great information, and as always, I appreciate you being on this journey with me. I appreciate all your hard work, all your sincere efforts, and I shall see you on the other side.
